I am so tired of blogs with sponsored posts.
There is one blog in particular that I used to read because it is the mom of a high school aged homeschooler, blah, blah, blah. At some point, she started posting pay per click sponsored posts on her site. They are nothing but thinly veiled ads. There is even a "visit my sponsor" button at the bottom of the posts.
I am so tired of constantly being sold to. Can't I just read a blog without having a product - that quite clearly the poster has never used - thrust at me.
I don't necessarily have a problem with ads. I don't mind a small box on the side of a blog with sponsored links. I am less a fan of ads placed between posts, but ads that are masquerading as blog posts? I have a huge problem with that.
So please. If you blog, please understand that I am not the only one who is tired of being sold to. I just hope that when your traffic stats go down and your clicks stop (and we all know that click are what you are paid for) you are understand why.
So I have declared a personal boycott on any and all sites that post pay per click posts/ads. Depending on how PMSey I get this weekend, I may boycott any and all blogs with ads. Oy.
End rant.

There is a decorating blog that I read that I used to love. She has beautiful ideas. However, she's always hawking her tassles that she makes or other people's stuff. It's tiring.
That used to be one of my favorites, too. Sigh...
I agree, I actually gave up a blog I had previously enjoyed becuase I couldn't stand the fakeness of the posts since she became sponsored. I knew there wasn't any possibility she was buying those things but the way she promoted them just really got me down!
And the thing about the tassel one is that there is much less decorating and much more self-promotion. Like she likes being known as a blog writer more than providing any good info.
That is what kills me. I would never recommended something that I have not used, no matter how much I was paid.
Christine -
I have noticed that too. If you go back in to the archives you can start to see when it changed, too.
I am glad that it isn't just me. I was afraid that I was just being grouchy.
